I didn’t realize the powder was going to be so sweet. The sweetness was unexpected and I would not have made the purchase had I read more thoroughly that it was sweetened. That said I trust this brand so I know the quality of product is excellent so I will power through it with a grimace on my face.
Aloha All! I really wanted Mushroom Revival to be my brand, yet was taught: TRUST BUT VERIFY. Despite preferring honesty & accuracy, I sifted & CAREFULLY UNDERFILLED each scoop of Lion's Mane & Cordycep's powders to avoid the "settling of contents" claims. Still, each bottle came up with 20 - 25 scoops out of 30. That's a 17 - 30% product shortage (actually more as I INTENTIONALLY UNDERFILLED). As a geeky, sciencey chick with a medical background, you can trust that. The Cordycep's Energy powder was consistently the bigger shortage at 20 scoops. . . I love the taste of mushrooms and a yummy dessert, but this powder is ridiculously sweet. I prefer, as a big girl who served 9 years in the military, to not add or perhaps add things to my own taste. Later, I did experiement with adding 16+ vs 8 oz of water, tea, etc, to cut the sweetness, but that's more stuff to drink when I prefer to fill up on plain water & the sweetness made me thirstier for real H2O. . . The Cordyceps did give me an energy boost, so I had to be sure I took it in the morning or early afternoon. It's not a jittery caffine rush, but a steady flow that keeps you rolling vs plopping down for a sit to do what can be comfortably done while on one's derriere. Coupling it with Lion's Mane made for better focus as Lion's Mane alone (it tended to have anywhere from a day to 5 days more of powder) didn't seem to make that difference. For me Cordyceps alone provided unguided energy so I was doin' stuff, but not neccesarily according to priority or completion unlike when coupled with Lion's Mane. . . I came here to check out their BOGO powder special before canceling my subscription, but as continues to be my experience, there is no such thing here though today's company text claims the sale is still going on. Everything shows up at normal price including the special "discount" I was supposedly getting when I 1st signed up last year that was supposed to run the life of my subscription. Ugh, not so much as in not at all. . . WHEN they use the full fruiting body WITHOUT any additives (I consider favorings & sweeteners additives detracting from my experience), AND they FILL the JAR with the product (I do LOVE staying away from plastic) at an affordable, FAIR price, I WILL buy it, update my review & recommend it to those in my circles. As it is, I will have to go with the competitor I've received shipments from & was researching at the same time I began using this product. (Roughly 3 weeks with this product to be sure I liked it's performance, pause a week since it ran out, THEN a month with the other!) Glad I had it on hand to make up for this product's shortages. I thought it was worth a fair try, which I did give them for 6 jars over 6 months, but to me, it's not worth purchasing a product that at least doesn't provide the 30 days' servings as promised. That's a loss of more than $60 or equal to 2 jars out of 6 over that period of time. Plus the overwhelming sweet obscures any umami taste of mushroom at all.
